Vesting 

Voluntary Savings  403(b) SUNY Voluntary Savings 403(b) Plan  All active employees of SUNY are eligible to participate. $24,500 Up to $8,000 additional annual deductions (for 2026) are permitted for those aged 50 and over (age as of 12/31/26) Up to $11,250 additional annual deductions (for 2026) are permitted for those aged 60 to 63 (age as of 12/31/26) Any amount above $24,500 will automatically be deducted on an after-tax basis, no action is required on your part. Employee voluntary contributions are fully vested immediately.
Deferred Compensation 457(b) NYS Deferred Compensation Plan  All active employees of SUNY are eligible to participate.  $24,500 Up to $8,000 additional annual deductions (for 2026) are permitted for those age 50 and over Up to $11,250 additional annual deductions (for 2026) are permitted for those aged 60 to 63 (age as of 12/31/26) Once you reach the $24,500 pre-tax contribution limit, your deductions will stop unless you set up a Roth account to continue contributing on an after-tax basis.  Employee voluntary contributions are fully vested immediately. 

*As part of the SECURE Act 2.0, starting in 2026, employees with 2025 FICA earnings of $150,000 or more will be required to make all catch-up contributions on a Roth (after-tax) basis. This applies to any 403(b) or 457(b) contributions exceeding the standard pre-tax limit of $24,500.
